About G.A.R. Hall
G.A.R. Hall, located in Peninsula, Ohio, is a historic structure originally built as a one-room schoolhouse in 1851. It later served as a meeting place for Civil War veterans, known as the Grand Army of the Republic, starting in 1888. The hall is currently owned and operated by the Peninsula Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to historic preservation and arts programming, and is well-known for hosting the "Voices in the Valley" music series, featuring traditional roots music by local, national, and international touring artists.
