About City Choir of Washington
The City Choir of Washington is not a venue, but rather a 140-member professional-level volunteer mixed symphonic choir that performs classical choral music at various concert halls and churches throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. They host a yearly subscription series of major choral works, sometimes with orchestras and soloists, and their engagement ensemble, the City Singers, performs holiday, spiritual, pop, and American classic music at community locations such as assisted living facilities and shelters. Their typical audience includes patrons of classical music from across the Washington metropolitan area, as well as residents of the community facilities they serve through outreach programs. The choir also hosts an annual "Party with a Purpose" benefit event.
